Inside TSL Danang: A Luxury Indoor Sports Lounge Hidden Within Hyatt Regency
December 22, 2025TSL Talent Spotlight: Jone
Some players walk onto court and surprise you. Others remind you why we coach. Jone was both kinds.
At TSL Tennis Coaching, our goal is to teach and inspire players of all levels, whether it’s the casual vacationer looking to work off a few extra bánh mì, the first-timer in search of a new hobby, or anyone in between, to believe that they can move better, hit cleaner, and reach higher.
Every player is different. Every session is different. But there’s a common thread that runs through everything we do: we try to infuse each session with enthusiasm, energy, and belief.
Every once in a while, however, our script gets completely flipped.
We encounter a player with such immense talent, drive, and passion for the game that we are the ones who walk away inspired.
When that happens, the story deserves to be shared, like a stone dropped into a tranquil pond, sending ripples far beyond the point of impact.
That is exactly why we created this new section of our blog: TSL Talent Spotlight.
Meet Jone, age 11, from Lithuania, small perhaps in days on this earth, but already large in talent, and even larger in ambition.
This is the brief story of how our paths crossed, and the impact she left on us.

A Spontaneous Session That Changed Everything
On a warm afternoon in late January, our head coach Diego was wrapping up a regular coaching session on the pristine hard courts at the Hyatt Regency.
Nearby, a father had just finished a hitting session with his young daughter on the adjacent court.
The girl wanted a coaching session right then, so the father approached Diego.
Perspiring and panting under the midday sun, Diego hesitated for just a moment.
But he’s never been one to say no to coaching eager young juniors. The lunch break could wait. A gentle session with a kid sounded harmless enough.
Little did he know what was about to hit him.
The extremely kind, gentle face of the young girl transformed the moment she picked up her racket. With a confident twirl, the kind you’d expect from a seasoned professional, she scooped up a few tennis balls as if loading ammunition, walked calmly to the baseline, and prepared for battle.
What followed over the next hour was a pelting of shots, power, precision, angles, touch, delivered at a level the Hyatt courts rarely witness… and certainly not from the racket of an 11-year-old girl.
Forehands that opened the court.
Drop shots that finished points.
Relentless power from the baseline.
Within minutes, Diego knew.
This player was special.

“Tennis is most of my life.”
— Jone
A Conversation Beyond the Baseline
After the final balls were struck and the courts began to cool, Diego did what any curious coach would do.
He asked a few questions.
What followed confirmed that what we had witnessed wasn’t just raw athleticism, but the product of a sharp and focused tennis mind.
Diego & Jone: Quickfire Q&A
Diego: When did you first start playing tennis?
Jone: I was six and a half. I was at the Rafael Nadal Academy and watching the professional athletes play. I remember thinking, this sport is for me.
Diego: What do you enjoy most about tennis?
Jone: It’s very strategic. Tennis is a bit like chess. You have to place the shots correctly. That’s what I enjoy most.
Diego: Favourite shot?
Jone: Either the sharp angle crosscourt forehand or the backhand drop shot. The forehand opens the court, and the drop shot finishes the point or brings the opponent closer to the net.
Diego: What do you like about training while travelling?
Jone: I get to meet new coaches and hear different opinions about my game. The weather is different, the courts are different.
Diego: And the big dream?
Jone: I would love to win Roland Garros. It’s the warrior Slam. My favourite player of all time, Rafael Nadal, dominated it, and my current favourite player, Carlos Alcaraz, is dominating it now too.
“Tennis is a bit like chess.”
Strategy first. Precision always.

The Ripple Effect
Jone is currently the number one ranked player in Lithuania in her age category.
But rankings only tell part of the story.
What stayed with us was her intensity, her curiosity, her humility, and the quiet certainty with which she approached every ball.
At TSL, we coach hundreds of sessions each year. Most are memorable. Some are special.
And then, very occasionally, a session reminds us why we fell in love with this game in the first place.
This was one of those days.
The courts have returned to regular activity again. New balls have been purchased after the current batch got smoked.
Diego’s legs have recovered.
But the ripples from that afternoon are still travelling, and we have a feeling they’ll reach far beyond Da Nang.

This is TSL Talent Spotlight.
And this is only the beginning of Jone’s story.
